Adam Khan and Luis Orias Diz

After initially meeting in the mid-nineties in Portugal while studying with Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, Argentine guitarist Luis Orias Diz and Welsh guitarist Adam Khan recorded their first CD 'Interludio', in Buenos Aires in 2006 for the Guitar Masters label.

Wag duo gave their first perforance together the same year at the Mar del Plata guitar festival in Argentina and it was during this trip that they decided to concentrate on the music of Wales and Argentina exclusively. They began to research the story of the Welsh settlers in Patagonia and how they built up a community based on their roots in Wales.

The duo has sought out composers from both countries and commissioned them to write and arrange works for guitar duo. To date these have included Stephen Goss and Daffyd Bullock.

Adam and Luis made their debut as a duo in Lima, Peru, and have performed extensively in Argentina at many important music festivals and events, including a concert in the Welsh Chapel in Gaiman, which is where the Welsh immigrants originally settled. The duo has performed many concerts in the UK, including the Eisteddford and the Monmouth Festival, and have recently begun givng concerts in Europe, including festivals in Germany and France.

Wag duo has appeared on television in Argentina and broadcast live for BBC radio.
